Massive updates folks, well lots have changed since my last upload.  Currently have learn't how to script a wave control system to control my enemies better.  And I've also created a new label to allow the player to read this information.  Due to running out of time no more gameplay is being implanted into the level.  The new goal for the player is to get to he highest rounds possible.

The diner has also gone through some changes I have added a night level to my game in which will act as a second level.  The night level also has different types of sounds to make the player believe something is different.  There's also lights placed around the sign to give off a neon glow effect as well as a stronger light  from the diner to illuminate the scene.

I'm replacing the old road with a new one and blending it slightly better with the environment.  I will also be adding a cor model next to the diner to give the diner more purpose.  I currently have one more script to write which is the wave control script and then I'm ready to hand in the main body of work.

Screen shot of the wave script I'm currently working on below is a screen shot of the gameplay being implemented.  On a side note I am also making a design document which covers the story, controls, gameplay and character types I was unfortunate on implementing into the game.

This weekend I'm making a main menu for my game, unfortunately I do not have the technology in making the main menu that I had in mind for my menu inside the diner.  This is due to scale form being a price cost plug in for unity.  Instead I've purchased a cheaper version called ngui, which allows a user to scale their own textures into unity on a 2d plane.  This fakes the illusion that it's scale-formed.  However I used my own scripts to link the menu to the scene.  I would also like to mention I used easy roads plugin to create my road in the following update the road will be more of a highway than a dirt road.

Well things have changed a heck of a lot since my last update.  There's actual;y an environment to show now! I know it's not perfect to be exactly like route 66 but it's getting there in my opinion, I have made a fully functional hud to work with my own assets in which I made for gameplay.  I have a money system that counts the cash the player earns every second and I also have a game over script which I'm currently working on.  The main level will start outside the diner where the enemies will attack from the road side.  If I have time I will make a second level outside the back of the diner to have a false illusion of progression.

My main menu will be made within the diner itself.  The menu will have the basic core functions working this weekend to start and quit the game project.  If I get time I will have an adjust volume option within the game.

The menu hud its kinda small at the moment but will be adjusted by tomorrow.  The designs for the hud are my own,.  The rest of the assets on the screen are outsources from other websites, in which I got permission to use from the respected owners.

Updates on scripts I've been writing, gameplay is almost there for alpha testing.  The models are kinds crude at the moment as I just want to get it to the working stage at the moment taken a while due to some some scripting errors.

This my improved death scrip, this also holds a modified version just in case of a future update in which allows the game to have different enemy types. The private bool will allow me to add this.

The stats script is very simple as there will only be one enemy type in this version.  The script will activate when the projectile detects the enemy the health script will activate and will lower the enemies health.

The shoot projectile is one of my smartest scripts.  It defects when an enemy AI is near and only fires when it his the grid.  Not only does it detect the grid, I've also allowed it to be able to change the damage it deals to the monsters.

Please be patient fellow watchers and true believers, I will I hope with being on a rl to have gameplay footage this weekend for sure.

A little update on my blog here, my diner is coming along nicely tweaking my textures at the moment.  And a artist friend of mine Stuey Quinn is helping me sketch out a few designs this evening for my game weapons.

I'm not the best texturer in the world but I am pleased on how this is coming along compared to the shape of my  original diner.  I will add a normal map when I'm near done and some fonts on my shield.

I decided that the main menu will be on the side of the door on my diner.  And will be placed in using scaleform.

The camera will start from this particular angel and pan to the previous versions of my diners angle.  Looking at my design now I'm thinking of going back and doing a higher detailed version.  I just did a quick version for now to add a stronger impact to the game as I feel the shapes are a lot more pleasing on the eyes of the people who will play the game.  If I have time next week I'll do a higher poly model.

I'm currently on 80% of my scripting for ingame.  I'm using boxes and cylinders at the moment to represent my future assets.  I am working on my ui hud over the xmas break and will hopefully be done in the week I come back before new years.  I'll be taking a week out in Jan to focus on one of my other projects then I'll be back in full form after that's handed in.

What's going on boys and gals its your boy Joel here with another update.  Well lots have been going on since my last update I've done a poster on my recent work I am now currently in the process off making my diner look pretty.  I have decided that my current block out is way to dull with the shapes so i have gotten back into modelling.  I am currently doing a modular diner build, starting off on the bottom walls and working my way up.  I'll be uploading the white box block outs later on tonight so stay tuned :)

Also I changed my poster design as well to make it my own

Here is my current renders of my whiteboxes from 3ds max I will be making my own textures to place onto my whiteboxes later on.

As you can see it is looking a little more like the diner I am basing it off now. I am going to model the doors and windows as well as the roof and sign later on tonight.

Diner is coming along nicely.  I am currently unwrapping it but everything is modeled by me. I'll be finished unwrapping tomorrow and will start the texturing stage.

Hey guys very small I've made a poster for my part 2 piece for hand in going for a diner board feel which could be placed on the side of my diner at a later stage.  My design inspiration was from the movie turbo at the credit scene.  I used the same layout made made everything from scratch in photoshop.  I feel it adds a lot of impact
